The EU Presidencies of Ireland, Lithuania and Greece (July 2026–December 2027) provide a strategic opportunity for European civil society to raise public awareness and engage stakeholders on the future of EU international cooperation. Through awareness raising, capacity building and policy dialogue, CSOs can promote global solidarity, sustainable development and civic space, particularly during the development of the new MFF. These efforts can strengthen citizen engagement, global citizenship, and CSO participation in shaping EU sustainable development financing and the Agenda 2030.
During the presidency, Lithuanian NGDO Platform aims to increase public and political awareness of the EU and its members as global partners in international cooperation. It aims to inspire EU citizens to actively contribute to a peaceful and just world. In line with Lithuania’s national priorities that have already been informally discussed (yet not publicly confirmed), Lithuanian NGDO Platform will focus on three key areas underscoring core EU values: peace, solidarity, equity, equality and global understanding.
